Our biggest Thirlmere house and the one families keep coming back to. Twelve guests, four bedrooms, a fully fenced yard the dog can have to itself, and a 3.5m by 6m alfresco that does most of the entertaining.
Set back from the road down a long driveway, so it is quieter than the street address suggests. Inside there is an oversized lounge, a 50 inch TV set up for Netflix and YouTube, and split system heating and cooling. The kitchen has an electric oven and cooktop, a dishwasher, and crockery, glassware and cutlery for twelve, plus the basics you always forget: salt and pepper, cling wrap, foil, baking paper.
The main bedroom has a walk in wardrobe, an ensuite and a desk. The other three have built in wardrobes, luggage racks and a mix of queens, doubles and bunks with optional trundles, so you can shuffle the sleeping arrangements to suit who is travelling. Rollaway beds are available on request, just ask when you book.
Town and the Rail Museum are a short walk, Thirlmere Lakes is a quick drive, and Sydney, the Blue Mountains and the Illawarra are all between 60 and 90 minutes away. Well behaved pets are welcome. There is a housing estate going up behind the property, so you may hear some daytime construction.
